Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA recently wrote an article for MedBridge called 'Solve the Puzzle: How to Assess Altered Cognition in Acute Care'.
In the article, Snow provides a list of key questions we must ask ourselves in order to assess a situation in an acute care setting when a patient is confused. She describes the multiple factors that are often at play that contribute to a patient's state of confusion.
Solving the puzzle can be challenging and requires detective work.
